The Yamaha rider fell on the opening lap of the race, and tests have revealed he has broken the third, fourth and fifth metatarsal bones in his foot.
Initially it was thought the Spaniard had broken just two metatarsal bones.
Lorenzo's foot will have to be in plaster for 10 days before he begins his recovery process in order to be in shape for the Czech Grand Prix at Brno on 17 August.
"I'm in a quite a lot of pain and angry, because this new fall stops my progress," said Lorenzo.
"I have plaster in my left foot but I can hardly walk because my right foot also hurts from the impact, although fortunately there are no injuries.
"Luckily I have time to recover for Brno, even if I'm left with no vacation."
