Lorenzo undergoes successful skin graft

Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo on Monday underwent surgery on his injured right hand and is expected to leave hospital within the next 24 hours.

The Spaniard, who crashed heavily during practice for the Catalan Grand Prix, underwent a skin graft on the fourth and fifth fingers of his right hand, using skin from his right wrist.

A final CAT scan also confirmed that Lorenzo had fully recovered from concussion, although he was still unable to remember the final moments before the accident at Barcelona.

Yamaha are yet to confirm if Lorenzo will race in the British Grand Prix in two weeks' time.
